We built the manufacturer we wished existed when we were starting out.

We started LA People because we watched too many first-time fashion founders get burned — by manufacturers who demanded huge minimum orders, went silent mid-production, or delivered nothing close to what was promised.

What founders usually ask us first.

No. Sampling has always had no fixed minimum — one piece is a real order to us. Bulk production has a modest minimum because it's genuinely how a production line works efficiently, not because we cut corners below it.

From your first design consultation to a production-ready sample, most orders take 4-6 weeks, depending on garment complexity and revision rounds. You'll always get a real, dated timeline once your brief is confirmed — not a vague estimate.

Sampling and smaller runs are made entirely in-house, by our own team. For larger production, we route orders through our own vetted manufacturer network — but every order, regardless of where it's physically made, goes through the same QC standard and stays under our direct oversight from first cut to final check. You're never handed off to someone we haven't personally vetted.

A connector's job ends once you're introduced to a manufacturer. Ours doesn't. We design your product in-house, build the tech pack, sample it ourselves, and stay personally involved through production and QC — whether that's on our own floor or through our network. We're not a directory. We're accountable for the outcome, start to finish.

A design and fabric development fee covers your consultation and any fabric sourcing, whether you're starting from scratch or refining something you already have. It's credited differently depending on your chosen plan — ask us for specifics on your project.

Alterations within your original documented brief are free. We'd rather get it right together than rush you into production on something that isn't yours yet.
